My name is Eduard Grigore and I am a research scientist atNational Institute for Laser, Plasma & Radiation Physics, Bucharest-Magurele. I am working in the Plasma Surface Engineering Group from Plasma Phisics & Nuclear Fusion Department. My current activities include R&D on surface modifications of materials by using plasma technologies.
Field of interest:
Thin films deposition by PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) methods (magnetron sputtering, arc evaporation by hollow cathode discharge ...); combined methods for surface treatments (magnetron sputtering deposition and ion implantation); thermochemical tratments (plasma nitriding).
Microchemical and microstructural characterization of materials by GDOES (Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometry), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), mechanical and tribological assessments of hard coatings (wear rate, friction coefficient & microhardness measurements), corrrosion tests and so on.
